Mesa Chamber of Commerce Endorses Mark Lamb for Congress

The Mesa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has voted to endorse retired Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb for Congress in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District.

The endorsement adds the support of a respected local business organization to Lamb’s growing coalition and recognizes a candidate whose commitment to small businesses comes from personal experience.

Small-Business Experience That Shaped His Leadership

Mark Lamb has consistently expressed his belief that “small businesses are the backbone of America.” For Mark, that is not a political talking point. He has lived the life of an entrepreneur.

Even as a young man, Mark worked for his father, who traveled the world conducting international business. He discusses these formative experiences at length in his book, American Sheriff: Traditional Values in a Modern World.

Before entering law enforcement, Mark worked for a local dairy and gained extensive sales experience with local home-service companies. He also owned and operated several businesses, including a pest-control company and a paintball store in Utah.

These experiences gave him firsthand insight into the financial pressure, uncertainty and personal sacrifice faced by business owners. More importantly, they gave him an appreciation for the hard work and commitment required to succeed.

Mark later founded Ten 7 Consulting and wrote Ten 7: When Your Shift Ends and Your Life Begins. The company and book were created to help retiring first responders prepare for life after public service, including starting businesses of their own.

His support for business owners was also evident during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

As Pinal County Sheriff, Mark was among the first Arizona sheriffs to publicly refuse to cite or arrest local business owners for violating the state’s stay-at-home order. Rather than use law enforcement to force businesses to close, he directed deputies to educate owners about the order and public health guidance.

That decision reflected his belief that government should protect constitutional rights and work with local communities, not criminalize people trying to preserve their livelihoods.

Getting Government Out of the Way

Mark has consistently called for reducing laws and regulations that unnecessarily burden businesses, workers and consumers.

“Washington is too big and needs to get out of the way,” Lamb has said.

He supports reviewing and reducing burdensome federal regulations, returning greater authority to the states and removing government barriers that make it harder for businesses to grow, hire employees and serve their communities.

The Mesa Chamber of Commerce endorsement adds further momentum to Lamb’s campaign as voters across Arizona’s 5th Congressional District look for experienced leadership and a representative who understands the challenges facing local employers.

Election Day is November 3, 2026.
