The attacks on me and my family are lies. I said that publicly at United Patriots AZ in Gilbert, and I am saying it again here.

My opponent has chosen to run television ads attacking me. I will not let those attacks set the agenda for this campaign. The people of Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District deserve to hear what I intend to do for them.

On June 4, I joined United Patriots AZ and Shane Krauser to talk about our country’s future. My wife, my mother and my aunt were there. So were people who care deeply about the Constitution, our communities and the freedoms we leave to our children.

I addressed the attacks because I wanted those people to hear directly from me. Then I talked about the work ahead.

My commitment remains the same: God, family, freedom and the Constitution.

Character Is Proven Under Pressure

I have spent years serving in the public eye. For eight years as Pinal County Sheriff, I faced difficult decisions, criticism and situations where people were counting on me to stand firm.

My job was to protect our citizens from criminals and government overreach. That responsibility required judgment, courage and a willingness to do the right thing when it was uncomfortable.

Those are the qualities I believe we need in Congress.

I have never spent a dollar attacking a fellow candidate. I refuse to run that kind of campaign. I want people to judge me by my record, my service and the way I have carried myself through difficult circumstances.

My family and I understood that running for Congress would be hard. We accepted that responsibility because we love this country and believe its future is worth fighting for.

I intend to keep doing that work.

Secure the Border With Lasting Solutions

I know the border through firsthand experience. As sheriff, I saw what failures in Washington meant for Arizona families and the deputies working to protect them.

Border security remains one of my highest priorities. We need to enforce our laws, confront the cartels and hold people accountable when they break the law.

We also need solutions that last.

President Trump’s executive actions brought immediate changes at the border. Congress has a responsibility to put sound policies into law and follow through on them. Arizona cannot build its future around policies that change whenever a new administration takes office.

Border security and immigration are connected, but they are separate responsibilities. Congress needs people who understand both and will do the work to address them.

Put Congress Back to Work

During my speech, I talked about the responsibility Congress has surrendered and the consequences for the country.

When lawmakers fail to act, presidents reach for executive orders and major disputes end up in court. Americans are left with uncertainty while Washington argues.

I believe we need to restore constitutional government by expecting each branch to do its job. Congress must debate legislation, make decisions and accept responsibility for the results.

I want to help restore that discipline. Following the Constitution should guide the work we do every day.

Hold Government Accountable

Accountability came up throughout the evening because it touches almost every problem we face.

Taxpayers deserve to know where their money goes. Federal agencies and organizations receiving public funds should answer for how they use those dollars. Government officials should expect scrutiny when their decisions fail the people they serve.

The national debt is a responsibility we keep handing to the next generation. Every year we avoid difficult choices, we leave our children and grandchildren a heavier burden.

I believe Congress needs to exercise serious oversight, confront waste and make responsible spending decisions. That work will take persistence and people willing to challenge the way Washington operates.

Protect Arizona’s Water, Energy and Opportunity

Arizona’s growth demands honest answers about water and power.

Families need affordable homes. Businesses need reliable energy. Communities need confidence that the infrastructure being planned today will meet their needs tomorrow.

During the speech, I raised questions about water availability, data centers and the demands being placed on our electrical grid. These decisions have lasting consequences for the people who live here.

We need reliable, affordable energy and responsible planning that protects Arizona’s future. We also need to reduce unnecessary government burdens so businesses can grow and younger Americans have a real opportunity to build a life of their own.

Determined to Be Free

Toward the end of the evening, I spoke about the courage and sacrifice of the Americans who secured our freedom.

They accepted hardship because they believed the country they were building was worth it. We owe them more than gratitude. We owe our children the same willingness to do difficult work.

I believe in this country. I believe in the Constitution. I believe in the families who work hard, serve their communities and want a government that respects their freedom.

That is why I am running for Congress. That is why I will keep showing up.
