Congress Must Protect Women's Sports and Preserve Fair Competition for Female Athletes
I am Mark Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Arizona's 5th Congressional District and former Sheriff of Pinal County. I believe women's sports should be protected for biological females, and I will support federal legislation that permanently preserves fairness and opportunity for female athletes.
Here's Where I Stand
• I support protecting women's sports for biological females.
• I support federal legislation that makes those protections permanent.
• I support President Trump's Executive Order protecting women's sports, but Congress must act to ensure those protections cannot be reversed by future administrations.
• I am running for Congress in Arizona's 5th Congressional District to fight for common-sense policies that protect families, parental rights, and equal opportunities for women.
A biological male recently won two women's cycling races in Oregon within eight days, including one victory by more than 36 minutes.
That should concern every parent, athlete, coach, and American who believes in fairness.
For years, female athletes have trained, sacrificed, and competed for the opportunity to earn championships, scholarships, and recognition based on their hard work and talent. Today, those opportunities are increasingly being threatened by policies that ignore biological reality.
According to reports, the Oregon Bicycle Racing Association allows athletes to self-identify into women's competition without requiring a biological standard. The result is exactly what many people feared would happen. Female athletes are being forced to compete against biological males who often possess physical advantages in strength, endurance, muscle mass, and recovery capacity.
I believe the answer is simple.
Women's sports were created for women.
Those opportunities should be protected.
What's Really at Stake
This issue is not about hate.
It is not about bullying.
And it is not about denying anyone dignity or respect.
It is about fairness.
Women's sports exist because men and women are biologically different. Those differences are the reason women's athletic divisions were created in the first place.
For decades, women fought for equal opportunities in athletics. They fought for scholarships, championships, roster spots, recognition, and a level playing field. Those hard-earned opportunities should not be erased by policies that place ideology above common sense.
When female athletes lose records, championships, scholarships, and podium placements because biological males are competing in women's divisions, the purpose of women's sports is undermined.
Americans know fairness when they see it.
They also know when fairness disappears.
Executive Orders Are Not Enough
President Donald Trump took an important step by signing an Executive Order designed to protect women's sports and preserve opportunities for female athletes.
I support that effort.
But executive orders are temporary.
One president can sign them.
Another president can erase them.
That is why Congress must act.
Federal law provides lasting protections. Executive actions do not.
The Senate had an opportunity to advance legislation that would have permanently protected women's sports, but the effort failed to move forward. As a result, organizations that are not directly governed by Title IX can continue implementing policies that many Americans believe are unfair to female athletes.
Congress Must Act
When I get to Congress, I will support legislation that permanently protects women's sports for biological females.
Female athletes deserve certainty.
Parents deserve clarity.
Coaches deserve consistency.
And young women deserve to know that the opportunities available to them today will still exist tomorrow.
Women's sports are for women.
That should not be controversial.
It should be common sense.
What This Means for Arizona Families
As I travel throughout the country, specifically throughout Arizona's 5th Congressional District, parents consistently tell me they want fairness, common sense, and equal opportunities for their daughters.
I agree.
Families should not have to wonder whether their daughters will lose opportunities, scholarships, championships, or recognition because adults refused to protect the integrity of women's sports.
This issue goes beyond athletics.
It is about whether we have the courage to defend fairness when it matters.
I believe we do.
A Commitment to Protecting Women and Families
As your next Congressman from Arizona's 5th Congressional District, I will continue fighting for policies that protect women, defend parental rights, secure our border, preserve our constitutional freedoms, and put Arizona families first.
Women's sports are for women. Period.
Congress should make that protection permanent so future generations of female athletes can compete on a level playing field.
God. Family. Freedom. 🇺🇸
