Retired Sheriff Mark Lamb joined Eric Bolling on Real America's Voice this week to make his pitch to Arizona voters. The conversation covered congressional dysfunction in Washington, the future of DHS funding, and why Lamb believes the 5th Congressional District needs a proven law enforcement leader.
Lamb did not hold back on the recent DHS funding debate. He placed blame squarely on Senate Republicans, saying they were given a strong House bill and "were scared to bring it to the floor." When the Senate sent back a weakened version that left out ICE and Border Patrol funding, Lamb called it unacceptable. He made clear that defunding those agencies would be a disaster for border states and would push the burden onto local sheriffs and law enforcement across the country.
On his own turf, Lamb knows the issue firsthand. Pinal County sits 50 miles from the border. During the Biden years, illegal crossings funneled directly through his county. He described desert sites littered with camouflage clothing and makeshift shoes used by cartel smugglers. His office continues to intercept human smuggling vehicles today.
Lamb praised President Trump's border record and said congressional action must follow to make executive gains permanent. "We've gotta have people that will solidify President Trump's executive orders into long-term beneficial laws," he said.
With Trump's endorsement secured early and a 70-point lead in Republican primary polling, Lamb enters the race from a position of strength. He also holds endorsements from the House Freedom Fund, the Club for Growth, and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.
Lamb is running to fill the seat being vacated by Congressman Andy Biggs, who is seeking the Republican nomination for Arizona governor. Lamb said he looks forward to "getting in the foxhole with President Trump" and delivering results for CD5 and the country.
