Retired Sheriff and congressional candidate Mark Lamb with OAN host Dan Ball during an interview discussing Arizona, border security, election integrity, and the 2026 election.

Mark Lamb on OAN: Common Sense Leadership, Election Confidence, and Arizona's Path Forward

July 23, 20263 min read

Following his victory in Arizona's Republican primary for Congressional District 5, retired Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb joined Dan Ball on One America News to discuss the election, Arizona's political landscape, election administration, and what voters should expect heading into November.

While the conversation touched on endorsements and Republican victories, Sheriff Lamb consistently returned to a broader message that resonates beyond party labels: restoring common sense, protecting the rule of law, securing the border, defending constitutional freedoms, and ensuring government works for everyday Americans.

Arizona Voters Chose Common Sense Leadership

Lamb opened the interview by thanking Arizona voters and the volunteers who supported his campaign, describing the primary victory as the result of thousands of people coming together around shared principles rather than politics alone.

He said voters are looking for leaders who will defend:

  • God

  • Family

  • Freedom

  • The Constitution

  • The Rule of Law

More importantly, Lamb emphasized that many Arizonans simply want government to return to common sense and practical solutions that improve everyday life.

Focusing on November

Although the primary election has concluded, Lamb made it clear his focus has already shifted toward the general election.

He described the campaign's priorities as:

  • Protecting Arizona's communities

  • Strengthening border security

  • Reducing unnecessary government

  • Lowering taxes where possible

  • Defending constitutional rights

  • Representing every resident of Congressional District 5 with integrity

Rather than celebrating victory, Lamb stressed that "the real work" is still ahead.

Improving Confidence in Arizona Elections

One of the interview's major topics was election administration in Arizona.

When asked about technical problems experienced in Maricopa County during Election Day, Lamb acknowledged that Arizona's largest county presents unique logistical challenges, serving approximately 4.6 million residents across more than 10,000 square miles.

Rather than speculating about causes, Lamb emphasized practical improvements:

  • Elections should operate smoothly every cycle.

  • Equipment should function reliably.

  • Problems should be corrected before the November general election.

  • Voters deserve confidence that elections are administered efficiently.

He also suggested that the size of Maricopa County itself contributes to many operational challenges and argued that restructuring the county could improve government efficiency.

Why Statewide Offices Matter

The discussion then shifted to Arizona's Attorney General and Secretary of State races.

Lamb explained that these statewide constitutional offices play an enormous role in:

  • Upholding the rule of law

  • Supporting law enforcement

  • Managing elections

  • Ensuring government accountability

He expressed confidence that Republican nominees Warren Petersen for Attorney General and Alexander Kolodin for Secretary of State would help strengthen Arizona's institutions and improve public confidence in state government.

A Campaign Built Around Common Sense

Throughout the interview, Lamb repeatedly returned to a consistent theme that has defined much of his campaign:

Government should focus on serving citizens rather than creating unnecessary obstacles.

His priorities include:

  • Safe communities

  • Secure borders

  • Constitutional liberties

  • Fiscal responsibility

  • Accountability in government

  • Respect for law enforcement

  • Restoring trust in public institutions

Rather than emphasizing division, Lamb framed these priorities as common-sense principles shared by many Arizonans regardless of political affiliation.

Mark Lamb's Message to Arizona Voters

As we head toward November, my focus remains exactly where it has always been: serving the people of Arizona's 5th Congressional District.

This campaign isn't about slogans or political theater. It's about restoring common sense to government, securing our border, supporting law enforcement, protecting our constitutional freedoms, and ensuring Arizona families have the opportunity to thrive.

Whether you've supported me from the beginning or you're still deciding who deserves your vote, I want to earn your trust. I believe leadership starts with listening, showing up, and being accountable to the people you represent.

Throughout my career as Sheriff of Pinal County, I've worked with people from every background and every political viewpoint. Public safety taught me that real solutions come from focusing on facts, respecting the law, and putting communities before politics.

That's the same approach I'll bring to Congress.

Together, we can restore confidence in our government, strengthen our communities, and ensure Arizona remains a place where freedom, opportunity, and common sense continue to thrive.

I look forward to earning your support this November.

Sheriff Mark Lamb (ret.)
