Mark Lamb Discusses Border Security and Federal Overreach on Chicago’s Morning Answer

CHICAGO, IL – October 16, 2025 – Former Pinal County, Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb joined Dan Proft on AM 560’s Morning Answer to discuss the growing conflict between federal immigration enforcement and local sanctuary city policies in places like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Portland.

LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE SHOW

Sheriff Lamb expressed concern over city and state leaders who are obstructing federal law enforcement operations, calling their actions “illegal” under Title 8 U.S. Code 1324, which prohibits harboring or shielding individuals in the country unlawfully. He emphasized that sanctuary policies violate both the spirit and the letter of the law, and warned that they endanger American communities by undermining national security.

Addressing claims of mistreatment within ICE detention facilities, Lamb described the conditions as “far better than most Americans realize,” citing strict care standards and humane treatment that often exceed those for domestic inmates. He dismissed accusations of abuse as political propaganda used to distort public perception.

Lamb credited President Trump’s administration for restoring law and order at the southern border and empowering federal agents to act decisively after years of neglect. He noted a significant drop in illegal crossings since Trump’s return to office and highlighted the continued fight against drug and human trafficking operations driven by the cartels.

“The last administration intentionally opened the borders,” Lamb said. “Now, under President Trump, we’re finally cleaning up the mess and putting Americans’ safety first.”

Sheriff Mark Lamb currently serves as the law adviser for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
