During the interview, Lamb spoke about his transition from law enforcement to public service on the national stage. He explained that after serving eight years as sheriff, he believes now is the time for real Americans to step forward and defend the Constitution. “We need men and women in D.C. who are unapologetic, confident, and willing to stand up for what built this country,” Lamb said.
Lamb reflected on his past Senate race and emphasized how it prepared him for this next step. He noted that fundraising and outreach have been much stronger in the congressional campaign, particularly because Arizona’s 5th District includes many of the communities he served as sheriff. “A third of this district is in the county I’ve led for the past eight years,” Lamb said. “These are my people, and I understand the issues that matter to them.”
He also shared how personal tragedy has shaped his passion for combating drug and border-related issues. After losing his son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter to a driver under the influence, Lamb said he is determined to fight the flow of fentanyl and illegal drugs devastating American families. “I’ve seen firsthand the destruction drugs bring. I want to be a defender of the American people and of families who deserve safety and justice,” he said.
Throughout the discussion, Lamb drew parallels between his leadership in law enforcement and the leadership he believes Congress needs. He spoke about managing large budgets, overseeing a full-scale agency, and working directly with both state and federal officials. “I understand how government works. I’ve been to the state capitol and to Washington, D.C., fighting for what’s right. I can hit the ground running,” he said.
The conversation also touched on broader issues such as homelessness, government dependency, and restoring moral leadership. Lamb tied many of these problems back to the nation’s drug crisis and the lack of border enforcement. “You can’t clean the floor until you turn off the water,” he said, explaining that addressing the border crisis is key to solving issues like addiction and homelessness.
Closing the interview, Lamb spoke about his admiration for George Washington and the values of America’s founding. “Silence in me would be a sin,” Lamb said, quoting Washington’s 1783 letter. “If you have the ability, you have the responsibility. That’s why I’m running — to defend faith, freedom, and the Constitution.”
Sheriff Lamb encouraged listeners to support his campaign, volunteer, and sign his petition at MarkLamb.us.
“The people of Arizona deserve a representative who will fight for them and never surrender to the establishment,” Lamb concluded. “I’m ready to be that voice in Congress.”
